Diese atemberaubende Uhr stammt aus den 1930er Jahren und befindet sich in einem au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlichen Zustand. Heute sind Mappin & Webb bei Sammlern von Vintage-Uhren bekannt, die die doppelte Signatur auf den Zifferbl\u00e4ttern lieben, aber nicht viele wissen, dass der Juwelier Teile von Uhren in Auftrag gab, um sie auch mit ihrem eigenen Namen auf dem Zifferblatt zu verkaufen. Dieses Exemplar ist ein wunderbares Beispiel daf\u00fcr. Das Zifferblatt besteht aus einem zweifarbigen Spiel, bei dem sich die rechteckigen Linien der Minuterie mit denen des inneren Bandes abwechseln, wo die arabischen Ziffern mit den \u00fcbergro\u00dfen 3, 9 und 12 hervorstechen. Die Zeiger sind geschwungen und in einem intensiven Blau gehalten. Das Zifferblatt zeichnet sich durch den kleinen, sehr tief platzierten Sekundenzeiger aus: Er ist unterdimensioniert und nimmt die Mitte des Umfangs ein, wobei er die Rechtecke der Minutenanzeige und der Stunden unterbricht. Eine sehr intelligente grafische L\u00f6sung, denn sie macht die Komposition sehr luftig und trennt die Stunden von den Sekunden durch viel Raum. Diese L\u00f6sung ist auch auf das verwendete Uhrwerk zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren, das von der Fabrique d'Horologerie de Fontainemelon hergestellt wurde. In der Tat wurde das Kaliber 29 mit vielen seiner Variationen f\u00fcr das Duo-Dial, die Jumping Hours und andere Varianten verwendet (die Uhrwerke tragen unterschiedliche Namen, aber die Basis ist die gleiche).
