Jenny & Cie SA, puis Jenny & Caribbean Montre AG, \u00e9tait un important fabricant suisse de montres de plong\u00e9e bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Lengnau, dans le canton de Berne, dans les ann\u00e9es 1960 et 1970. D\u00e8s 1962 et 1963, les premi\u00e8res montres de plong\u00e9e (15 mod\u00e8les), appel\u00e9es \"Caribbean\", ont \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9es sur le march\u00e9. Elles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9es pour \u00eatre \u00e9tanches jusqu'\u00e0 30 atmosph\u00e8res (\"Caribbean 300\"). Cependant, ce n'est qu'en 1968\/1969 que Jenny & Cie SA a mis en \u0153uvre la fonction chronographe sur une montre de plong\u00e9e \u00e0 profondeur maximale : le \"Discochron\" \u00e9tait n\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cette montre rarissime, datant de 1969 \u00e0 1972, poss\u00e8de un gigantesque bo\u00eetier monobloc de 50 mm en forme de disque. Son profil satin\u00e9 n'est interrompu que sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 droit, qui abrite la couronne d'origine avec le logo Marlin stylis\u00e9 (un logo enregistr\u00e9 sous licence d'utilisation par des tiers) et les boutons du chronographe. Le dessous du bo\u00eetier porte le logo de la marque et du mod\u00e8le, ainsi que les trois brevets de cette montre. Au-dessus du monobloc se trouve la lunette tournante, dot\u00e9e de quatre protub\u00e9rances au niveau des 15 minutes, ce qui permet de l'utiliser facilement m\u00eame avec des gants. Elle est surmont\u00e9e d'un bel insert orange et noir prot\u00e9g\u00e9 par une r\u00e9sine plastique (appel\u00e9e \u00e0 tort Bak\u00e9lite).<\/p>\n

Le cadran pr\u00e9sente un spectaculaire sous-cadran \u00e0 trois cadrans qui \u00e9merge du fond orange (l'une des couleurs les plus visibles en plong\u00e9e, surtout \u00e0 grande profondeur). Sa surface est gren\u00e9e et pr\u00e9sente des index b\u00e2tons remplis de tritium sur fond de cercles noirs. Le cadran du compteur des minutes du chronographe est tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressant et rare, rappelant - avec son alternance de couleurs jaune, rouge et blanche - les montres de r\u00e9gate. Already between 1962 and 1963, the first Diver watches (15 models) were launched on the market, called \"Caribbean\", which were tested to be water-resistant up to 30 atmospheres (\"Caribbean 300\"). In 1964, the company experimented with new formulas to make its watches even more waterproof, pushing them to depths of up to 700 metres (\"Caribbean 700\"). Around the mid-1960s, the \"Caribbean 2000\" arrived, a professional watch for extreme diving that boasted numerous patents, from the water-resistant monobloc case with rotating bezel, to the mineral glass pressed between the bezel and the case body, and up to the bezel that showed the decompression indicator. These numerous patents were granted in the late 1960s to numerous other manufacturers entering the ever-growing market for professional diving watches (including Doxa, Philip Watch, Ollech & Wajs, Fortis, Aquadive, and others). However, it was only in 1968\/1969 that Jenny & Cie SA implemented the chronograph function on a maximum-depth diver's watch: the \"Discochron\" was born. This extremely rare watch, dating from 1969 to 1972, has a gigantic 50mm monobloc disc-shaped case. Its satin-finished profile is interrupted only on the right side, which houses the original crown with the stylized Marlin logo (a registered logo licensed for use by third parties) and the chronograph buttons. The underside of the case features the logo of the brand and the model, as well as the three patents this watch holds. Above the monobloc sits the rotating bezel, featuring four protrusions at the 15-minute mark, which allows for easy operation even while wearing gloves. Above this is a beautiful orange and black insert protected by plastic resin (mistakenly called Bakelite). The dial features a spectacular three-dial subdial that emerges from the orange background (one of the most visible colors when diving, especially at great depths). Its surface is grained and features tritium-filled baton indexes set against black circles. The chronograph minute counter subdial is very interesting and rare, reminiscent - with its alternating yellow, red, and white colors - of regatta watches. The hour and minute hands are large, visible black pencils with luminescent paste inside; the chronograph hand has a striking triangular shape.
