Cette superbe montre a \u00e9t\u00e9 fabriqu\u00e9e des ann\u00e9es 1930 \u00e0 nos jours dans un \u00e9tat exceptionnel et provient certainement de l'une des deux boutiques Mappin & Webb de Londres, l'une situ\u00e9e sur Regent Street et l'autre sur Oxford Street. La naissance de cette importante tradition de joailliers a eu lieu en 1775 (cette ann\u00e9e sera donc le 250e anniversaire de sa fondation) par Jonathan Mappin \u00e0 Sheffield, qui \u00e9tait un grand orf\u00e8vre renomm\u00e9 avec son fr\u00e8re. Dans les ann\u00e9es qui ont suivi, son arri\u00e8re-petit-fils John a voulu poursuivre la tradition familiale, mais cette fois \u00e0 Londres : avec son beau-fr\u00e8re George Webb, ils ont fond\u00e9 Mappin & Webb en 1860 et, deux ans plus tard, ils ont ouvert la premi\u00e8re boutique de haute joaillerie dans Oxford Street.
