ANALISI
This elegant timepiece was conceived and created within the Louis Cartier collection and launched in 1973. The Ellipse’s design has remained unchanged over time, quickly becoming an iconic watch with instantly recognizable features, like all Cartier watches. The beautiful white enamel dial with black Roman numerals is in exceptional condition. The Cartier signature is at the center; The much-loved “Paris” inscription is at 6 o’clock. The hands are sword-shaped and fire-blued.
The solid 18-karat yellow and white gold case has a pseudo-ovoid shape and is characterized by the juxtaposition of a tubular element above the body of the case. The structural rhythm is very fluid and harmonious, making this timepiece a masterpiece of elegance and style. The composition is enhanced by the original crown with a large protruding cabochon sapphire.
This timeless watch is powered by the manually wound Cartier 78-1 movement. This movement is based on the ETA 2512-1, a caliber whose production peaked in the mid-1970s. It measures 17.5 mm, is 3.0 mm thick, has 17 jewels, runs at 21,600 A/h, and has a 44-hour power reserve.
