ANALYSIS

In this context, the Autavia Chronograph reference 2446C, launched in the late 1960s, represents the most iconic and coveted watch for its extremely sporty look and the GMT function that strongly influences its timeless aesthetic.

The dial is typically black with three contrasting white subdials. The uniform matte black surface highlights the clean graphics of the subdials, ensuring immediate and easy reading. The hours are indicated by rectangular tritium hour markers, accompanied by red markers alternating with the peripheral minute scale. Small dots of luminous paste are positioned at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. This configuration is typically referred to as the Mark 2 “Last Execution” due to the oversized subdials that touch the luminous baton indexes. Also, in this rare version, the “Swiss” inscription replaces the “T Swiss” inscription, which obviously refers to the tritium. The hour and minute hands are shaped like large pencils and also contain the original luminous paste. The chronograph hand is white, while the GMT function arrow is red. Completing the captivating aesthetic of this splendid watch is the magnificent 24-hour bidirectional bezel with a red and blue segmented aluminum insert (hence the “Pepsi” name).

It is in exceptionally rare condition, having retained its vibrant colors, brilliance, and precise numerals.

The case is a compact and robust steel drum. The lugs are thick and short, featuring a pronounced chamfer on the outer shoulder. The caseback features the splendid original crown with logo and the two fluted pushers that activate the chronograph motor.

Beneath the heavy steel caseback (engraved with the name of a previous owner) lies the magnificent Valjoux 724 caliber, finished with exquisite chamfering.
