ANALYSIS

This watch represents all the innate elegance of Italians. Fashion, Figurative Art, Design, Art of jewelry and goldsmithing, are the basis of Italian culture. It is a genetic condition.

The little-known protagonist behind this wonderful object is Remo Bertolucci, a Tuscan who moved to Switzerland for love and who launched a production of unique watches, which combine Italian design with Swiss mechanics.

It is from a small company in Neuchatel founded in 1987 that Remo launches one of his most important collections on the market: the “Pulchra”.

This model was presented for the first time at the Basel Show in 1992 and had an immediate, incredible, success.

The time-only watch, reference 114.8055.68, has all the elements that have made this line famous. The dial has a white background with applied yellow gold indexes. At the fifteenths of a minute there are the beautiful Roman numerals, very slender except at 3 o’clock, where there is the sober date window. The dial and the pencil-shaped hands feature luminescent paste. At 12 o’clock there is the Bertolucci signature; at 6 o’clock the writing automatic.

The solid 18Kt yellow gold case has a circular shape with a rounded and domed bezel. On the right side it is interrupted by the shoulders that protect the beautiful crown with the “B” logo. The name of the model is shown on the satin-finished external case back together with the reference and the gold marks. The lugs are very short and hook the wonderful bracelet made with an alternation of round and beveled links. Remo Bertolucci was inspired by the marine stones of his Mediterranean to design this refined watch. It appears soft and warm to the eye and ends with a deployant that hides the clasp still with the “B” logo. This masterpiece was created by a goldsmith workshop in Varese, Italy.

Inside this incredible watch with an Italian taste is the soul of Switzerland. The automatic caliber is the precise and resistant ETA 2892-2 with a high degree of finishing.
