ANALYSIS
This oustanding Marvin Jumbo in addition to the size of the case is extremely unique for its dial. The latter has a chocolate / tobacco colored background rich in shades and chromatic reverberations. Really crazy. The oxidation of its surface, together with the light and the significant presence of Radium, have made this dial a work of art painted by time over the years. The Arabic numerals and dots are filled with original Radium in a beautiful cream color, which plays tone on tone with the background of the dial. In the center of it at 12 o’clock there is the beautiful Marvin signature strongly serif under which there is the miniaturization of an airplane seen from the front and which is typical of some very rare Marvin Jumbos. The no magnetic writing immediately below tells us about the antimagnetic properties of the caliber covered by the steel case back. The spheres have a silver body and are shaped like an oversized pencil (aka “matitone”). They overlook a sub-second dial which is also oversized with a closed double-circumference seconds hand. The small seconds hand is also silver colored to match the hours and minutes.
The huge 40.2mm case has a sinuous and flat profile. It is topped by a very soft but sharp-profiled stepped bezel.
Powering this extremely rare watch is the caliber 1148 signed by Marvin.
