ANALYSIS
This is a very refined object and follows the evolution of the design that Omega has been able to interpret well while remaining firm in the mechanical watch market during the quartz invasion.
It has a pseudo-rectangular dial that seems to anticipate the taste for the so-called “TV” shapes. It has a corol silver background treated with a deep vertical brushing, which forms the basis for the vertical development of the applied golden baton-shaped indexes that mark the hours. At the center at 12 o’clock is the Omega signature with the applied logo; at 6 o’clock is the De Ville signature. This dial is designed to be the synthesis of elegance and therefore lacks the seconds hand (as it should be). The hours and minutes hands are baton-shaped and gilded, in combination with the indexes.
The solid 18Kt yellow gold case has a very angular “fancy” shape and with a horizontal development. Its sides extend with a triangular section, making the composition very modern and at the same time decidedly elegant.
The caliber that animates this jewel is the in-house manual winding movement 620 with a classic copper finish. It is a 17-jewel machine that runs quickly at 19’800 vph. It – regulated on 2 adjustments – is also very thin. Omega called this caliber “Super Flat”, being only 2.5mm thick.
