ANALYSIS
This incredible watch pairs a beautiful and rare dial with a circular steel case with “fancy lugs”.
The dial is made of solid silver with an indelible technique, and this develops an astonishing three-dimensionality of the entire surface. The minute track seems to retain the light in its 60 intervals. Outside on the edge of it, there are the elegant Roman numerals placed at the quarters in a radial position. The almost swirling circularity of the layout seems to converge towards the elegant sub-second dial, also closed with notches to detect the quarters of a minute
The opacification of the surface of the dial has made the silver of a warm, almost pink tone: a brushstroke of color that only time knows give. The hands are thin and blued by flame tempering.
The round case in staybrite steel is a concentration of elegance, because it ends with splendid drop-shaped lugs, still recalling the overall circularity of the composition. The original crown is wonderful, which is also structured by globular and circular elements.
Inside there is the caliber derived from JLC and renamed RA 10″105 by Vacheron Constantin. With a diameter of 22.5mm this movement was produced from 1929 until the 1940s and is characterized by a large 1/2 bridge that hides the barrel wheel and the intermediate winding wheel. All the profiles of the bridges are treated with a very refined anglage and on the surface by large and deep Cote de Geneve.
